old news tri, that little program crashed my computer more than one time before. But beware, if your computer cant handle it, it can cause some damage.

A fairly impressive graphics demo.
Nothing sinister.

which time (assuming he was banned multiple times)? :)
doesn't seem like one would get banned for posting a gfx demo.

No. He posted it, and the thread got locked, and he got a warning. It's just a grapihcs demo. He didn't know that it would crash certain cards. From what I understand, the warning was sort of withdrawn, after the mods realized it wasn't a virus.
Neo got banned for doing a lot of things. Posting a buggy graphics demo was definitely not the worst thing he ever did.

sorry folks. i was a bit tipsy last night and remembered that little demo and how cool it was (heard about it 2 years ago). i checked it out again and saw that they had made a second one. i felt like posting it.
to be honest, it doesn't work on my computer either.
sorry to bother you guys :P

it's a fairly impressive graphics demo that manages to compress everything it contains into a 64 kb file. it does 3d rendering and music synchronously. i was more amazed by the compression technology than the actual demo itself.

It's not really about the compression. There's a very real limit as to how much we can compress anything. We are pretty much at that point already. The problem with graphics is the textures, the bitmaps. Rather than compressing and storing the textures, they actually create them on the fly. That's how they managed to get it so small. It's rather amazing that they did it so well.

Ya, it crashed my card way back as well. :(
It really blows though since it's optimized for only a few cards, but impressive nonetheless.
