ok i had the bright idea of trying 2 make my 1st wa3 skin, i made the background i wanted to use, but after this i didnt know where 2 put it to add the buttons and stuff. i am noob :rolleyes: i know some about xml but no scripting :(

You can put buttons wherever the heck you want to - there are no set places like in WA2. You will have to decide for yourself where they will go the best. Look at the stickies at the top of the forums and find the tutorial one, and look through a few tutorials.

Yes, the tutorial is a good idea to get a rough idea. I know it might be slightly outdated and not entirely complete, but you can use this as a rough referencing point for objects and their usage. You can use any skin you've downloaded to see the basic hierarchy of the .wal filestructure. Go to C:\program files\winamp3\skins\ and rename one of the .wal files to a .zip. Extract it, and you've got a model of how the files should/can be set up. The <include /> tag shows you which files in the xml folder are going to be loaded in addition to that script. Check it out.
