Hey everyone

Something that is bugging me here and I was wondering if anyone has a solution for this?

Not sure if I can explain this properly, however, when doing a live show, I click the Lock button on the Shoutcast source to talk over the music. The background music level drops. This is good as I have music that is playing in the background. Now..I also have another application open when I do a show that I load sound effects into to play while talking.

The problem is that when the background music level is dropped down, it drops the level of all the sounds on the computer. I am assuming that the shoutcast source volume level is tied into the system volume.

Any way to have the background music level drop and not affect the volumes on the system? I have tried switching and using waveOut and directsound. Seems like the same thing happens on both.

Any ideas?

sorry actually Winamp and your FX program are tied to the same volume slider in the system. So if one is quiet so is the other. Only fix is to either source something from outside the computer like a CD player tapedeck or whatever or get a second soundcard and assign the effects program to that card.

My intro? We dont use an intro on the station. If you are talking about some of the station promos we use...there is only one with a girl. And she is a real girl with no sound effects.

If you are talking about some with the voice manipulations, I use CoolEdit Pro and change the pitch on the voice.

btw...I dont use anything to change the sound of my voice while I am live on the air.

All the promos you hear on my station are prerecorded and edited.
