Let me get it straight to you guys.

I been browsing the forums because I had the same problem.

Yet I have a solution, gathering from all the resources and topics I found.

It's simple.
1.Download skins you want. It will get a error message.
2.Delete everything in the "db" file in your Winamp3 folder
3.Delete studio.xnf in your Winamp3 folder too.
4.Go open up Winamp3, go into options, open up preferences. Then click on advance and enable the thing if it isn't already.
5.Near last but not so, restart it.
7.Open up your Winamp3, if it goes into the studio error, repeat step number 2 and 3.
8.Try switching skins from INSIDE Winamp3.

So simple ain't it? :D

*NOTE*
It may not work for all of you, I have a Windows ME OS and everyone says that most of the skins don't work for Windows ME.
*EXTRA NOTE*
IT MAY NOT WORK!!!

*UPDATE*

Everytime you download a skin, it will go all wacko again. All you need to do...(DON'T PANIC) is delete studio.xnf.

Simple...

*The Other Problem*
You can't double click a song and think it would play it. It takes it as a skin, because if your right click it it says, Install up top, instead of play. So it like thinks its a skin.

Yet I have another solution but yet it is a VERY CRAPPY solution.
1.Open up Winamp3.
2.Drag songs into it.

Ain't that great is it?

Well just hope they will make another version of this very crappy Winamp3.

Actually, it sounds like you are having more problems than just plain Winamp3 bugs. My mp3's play just fine by double clicking, and all skins posted to Winamp.com that I've downloaded so far work just fine. Be sure that you are running a clean install of Winamp3.0 (build 488). That means remove the whole Winamp3 folder. If you had any older builds, it's almost certain that you'll have problems. Also, skins posted to Winamp.com have been verified to work, skins posted to other sites may have been built on older Winamp builds.

I shouldn't have put that YOU CAN'T there huh?

I should have just put down IF YOU CAN'T.

Small mistake, oh well.

And I'm pretty sure I got the latest version of Winamp3, for I got it yesterday.

I'm gonna go ahead a check in the options and stuff.

i believe that it is also crucial that you completely uninstal any old version of wa3, and not just install over the old version.

If it is, I hope they fix it...
