Ok - tune your Winamp, dim the lights ... get close to your beloved one, physically, or when not possible, mentally ... close your eyes ... and think of the three most beautiful lovesongs you would like to play for the most loved person of your life ... What are the best lovesongs ever ?

my nomination is
1. Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Power Of Love
2. Peter Cetera - One Good Woman
3. Extreme - More Than Words

let me be the first to say it:

bloodhound gang - the bad touch.

Xerxes

Gah... that song sounds like it was written by horny 13 year olds.

Off the top of my head,
Offenbach - Barcarolle
Mozart - Piano Concerto 23 (Adagio)
GF Handel - Xerxes (:))

99.99999% of the time i despise and won't listen to love songs, but when i do...

foreigner - i want to know what love is (CHEESE!)
extreme - more than words
radiohead - you (it's a love song to me - i would listen to this one normally...)

i'm tempted to say "this love" by pantera, but nah...

Any (metal/grunge/emo/alternative/hard rock/hardcore) song where the love is one-sided and/or doesn't work out, just like in real life.

Etta James :At Last
Peter Garbriel's In Your Eyes
Andrea Boccelli with or without the great voice of Sarah Brightman

I'd probably go with Andrea Boccelli too :-x
If I had to pick one song though, hands down it would be Sarah Brightman's "Deliver Me".

Well, maybe Way Out West - Intensify (Blind Faith Remix), BT - Remember, or DMB - Crash. Sorry, I don`t have too much experience with love songs, and I really can`t even think of any right now.

The three I found first, although there are many others...
Richard Marx - Right Here Waiting
Extreme - More Than Words
Bryan Adams - Everything I Do (the song we danced to at our wedding!)

... and if Nightwish's lyrics weren't so darn depressing, we would have played several of their songs too lol.

By The Beatles:

You've got to hide your love away.
This Boy
For no one (I think this is McCartney's best).
Here, There and Everywhere.
It's only love.
Tell me what you see.
And I love her.
Michelle.
Something.
Girl.
In my life.
Julia.

Rufus Wainwright:
In my arms.
Imaginary love.

John Lennon:
(Just like)Starting over.
Grow old with me.

Paul McCartney:
Maybe I'm amazed.
(not sure if this oen is a "love song"): The back seat of my car.

I don't see why the hot tub is necessary...that's just a stereotype (as far as I know).

hey I didn't expect classic fans here :) so here my choice would be anything from Bach, like Art of the Fugue BWV 1080 ...

... and wow - already 3 votes for Extreme
maybe we get an inofficial Winamp top love songs parade here ;) ;) ;)

Elastica - My Sex. A fantastic song you really must listen to

Hot tub not necessary, but very helpful. It dilates the veins, makes blood "run" much faster.:D :D I know this? ewwwwww:eek:

Marvin Gaye rocks! John, download some Enigma and you will get some extra points with any girl!

I thought I'd be the only person here who listens to Marvin Gaye. Makes you feel good to know people still play or listen to him. What a voice. Great politics and he was beautiful. Oh Bush's Glycerine. great song

Funny that two people mentioned Pantera songs :) Except "Planet Caravan" was originally done by Black Sabbath (go listen to it sometime, it's quite trippy). And of course "This Love" would apparently be perfect for Some1 hehe.

I just wanna know what the heck Missy edited out  lol

It dilates the veins, makes blood "run" much faster.

True, but if you really want to do it right, you need to cut the artery, not just the veins, and arteries are deep enough below the skin and operating at such a high pressure already that heat will have next to no effect on them...of course, if you're going to try to get away with just cutting the veins then you probably could use the hot tub, but then the people who just cut the veins aren't really serious about it, their attempts are more of a "cry for help" sort of thing. Serious people go for the artery.

Some1, If you cut veins up the long way on the arm, you'll need the best dam Veineologist in the world to sew you. But it can be done. Also, anyone and I mean anyone, who is cutting for attention really needs help. I mean after all, couln't you just paint yourself blue and run around alot screaming "I'm an ocean!" "I'm an ocean.

Some1, If you cut veins up the long way on the arm, you'll need the best dam Veineologist in the world to sew you. But it can be done

But is it not easier and fasterer to make one quick, deep cut across the wrist and sever the artery than trying to maintain your composure while you slit along the entire length of the vein?

Also, anyone and I mean anyone, who is cutting for attention really needs help.

Maybe if they're just doing it for attention, but if they're doing it because they derive pleasure from it, then it's their own business.

couln't you just paint yourself blue and run around alot screaming "I'm an ocean!" "I'm an ocean

No...people cannot do that because I already AM the ocean, and anyone who tries to claim that they are the ocean is guilty of trademark infringement and defamation of character.

No.

why not start a thread What is your favorite suicide procedure ?

Because threads that I start tend to do poorly...and we're not really talking about favorite suicide procedure, we're discussing different methods to perform just one of many suicide "procedures."

No.

what an insightful comment...care to elaborate?

;) for getting into the mood again here the lyrics of FGTH's Power of Love
... for all who are loving .. :)

"The Power Of Love"
Frankie Goes To Hollywood

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

Feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away - yeah

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you

Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love, flowers
And pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin' rushin' inside of me

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine-divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure-the only treasure

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky-scraping dove

Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

well as long as we're harshing everybody's buzz:

I've been so alone for so long
forgotten by the world, forgotten to myself
your effervescent eyes have awakened me
and brushed the dust away...
but I knew you'd never stay
so I memorized the color of your eyes
as I lost myself inside you
I memorized the way our legs entwined
as I drifted off beside you
I miss
god I miss waking up beside you...

at night, I cling to you I'm so afraid
afraid the day will come
and I'll wake up and find you gone
but you promise that you'd not abandon me
and kissed my fears away...
but I woke up to that day...
but I had memorized the way our eyes would meet
reflected in the bathroom mirror
and I memorized your naked silhouette
as you slowly brushed your hair...

I miss, god I miss waking up beside you...

I've been so alone for so long...
I forgot how much it hurts to wake up so alone...
but I'd memorized how warm your body felt
as you lay half asleep beside me
and I memorized the way the sunlight filled the room
and played upon your body...

I miss, god I miss waking up beside you...

Stabbing Westward - Waking up Beside You
