Get a real dog! A frickin Aibo isn't going to brutally maul anyone that breaks into your house... A big, violent, angry dog is the only way to go :D

That's all good until the dog mauls your next door neighbors kid like a chewing toy

then you get an aibo, bury your old dog and pretend you never had one.

Must have been an al'quaeda dog that attacked your neighbours kid.

Real dogs are the way to go, in my opinion. Sure, Aibos and Furbys are cool, but they don't have emotions, can't sense when you're sad and comfort you, and can never really care for you. They are, in truth, expensive toys. That's why in all of those commercials with dolls that have in their tinny, fuzzy voices, "I love you." In their limited vocabularies, I feel sad, because they do not, in actuality. They cannot be your friends, because they don't have emotions, Their brains consist of programming languages and binary codes. Technology hasn't produced something with emotions yet, and when they do, I will reconsider this opinion. But, when they do develop emotional robots, look what happened to that poor thing in 'A.I.' I hated that movie. Only movie ever that made me cry. I never cry during movies!!!

It's really kind of scary the development in robotics. We constantly strive to make things stronger, smarter, and faster. What happens when they finally surpass us? What happens then? I'll leave that for you, me, and everyone else to contemplate and come to a decision. All I'm saying is, be aware.

It is a good view into our future of AI in robots.
