I've read most of the threads within this forum and what the moderators, users and of course programmers who are currently supporting WA3 don't seem to realize is that without the userbase support for Winamp there would be NO Winamp At All!

After 5 years of Systems Administration and Technical Support Management I encountered a bulk of users who became very passionate about the software they had chosen and become very accustomed to using (Can we spell STABILITY and/or REALIABILITY). I shudder to think what would happen to the American Marketplace if companies did not listen to their customers. Do not start raving about Winamp being FREE and that no one is forcing customers to use the product. If you offer a product...support it! Very simple concept !

All anlogies walk somewhat with a limp, but if you bought a physical product.. something as simple as a pair of shoes and a few days later the heels began to fall off.. the experience would affect your personal stability and mobility. The same thing is being encountered by these "passionate users"... the software is in fact not backwards compatible... it is in fact a CPU Resource hog and I see the same as the other users ... a good try, but as Frost stated ..."miles to go before I sleep". If my programmers had released software such as Winamp 3 which is currently "not ripe" and released it without Quality Assurance prior to release.. I simply would have forwarded all of the email, faxes and phone calls to their desks and let them live with the pain of the tsunami of user complaints.

I believe that Winamp is a great product, back up and look deep into the programming issues that surround Winamp 3 and it will become a welcome descendant of Winamp 2. Something that all will be proud of using and supporting into the distant future.

Fix WA3, it's broke
