What are some good games out right now?

What are some good games out right now? I want to get some new games that are good games, and not crap. My only requirement is that it came on 1CD. If it came on 2 or more, I don't want it. :) But you can recommend it anyway. Just let me know if it came on more then 1 CD, so I am aware before I go check it out.

Max Payne. A bit old now, but the best game that I have ever played (that doesn't say much, because I'm not much of a gamer). The latest instalment of Command & Conquer will be released sometime soon. C&C: Generals, or something like that. C&C games usually fill at least 2 CDs though, but are highly addictive.

If you like racing sims, Microprose grand prix 4.

I have all of them, and while the first 3 were great, this ones outstanding.

Buying a PS2 just to play GTA:Vice City would be totally worth it. GTA:VC is all GTA3 wanted to be.

though ive always professed to hate turn based i couldnt ignore the quality of final fantasy X (10)i didnt finish it within the week i had it rented but i wasnt very dedicated. though it is rather long (compared to most games ive played) it does come on only one disk.

omit just aquired an xbox (omit being rather thrifty saved almost 200 bux dough on games the console periphrials and such) this xbox as its called makes omit happy. alot of the bad things i heard or thought about it are untrue. you do not have to install games you can save save games to the hardisk and its ability to play music that you riped from your cd's (real cd's only no cd-r's) to its hardisk is endlessly cool so much so (in my case at least) that im sure ill find untold hours of fun in even crappy games. and most games come with demos to other games too. get one for yourself wont you; soon, you get 2 free games with it for a limmited time only. (which happen to, convient to this particular thread, come on one disk.) sega gt : jet set radio future. i bought the entire thing just for the oprotunity to save even 40 bux on jet set being a fan of jet grind.

Masters of Orion 3 will be out Nov. 20 - all other games you can download should be considered mere trifling distractions so that you may bide your time easier waiting for the 20th.

Sid Miers Alpha Centauri would probably be the best "trifle" you could aquire in the meantime.

Civilisation 3.

I made the mistake of installing Civ3 on this machine on Saturday. Consequently I lost most of the weekend...

Currently the mighty Welsh horde are having trouble with China to the east, although I do have certain plans for Babylon to the south, hehe. This game might be a goner though, I couldn't expand fast enough in the Stone Age (slight argument with Rome), still, nil desperandum...

Halo, UT03, UT99, Metroid Prime, and Turok:Evolution.

And that's just for the shooter field.

I'd also reccomend Animal Crossing, Starfox Adventures, and even Frequency. Any of the DDR series is another good bet.
