...on what kinda monitor I should get. I need a new one because I broke a few pins on the connection cable for the monitor I have right. It should just be a replacement of the cable, but the way the monitor is made, the cable is stuck right into the back of the monitor with no way of disconnecting it. :mad:

I'm lookin' for a 17" flat-panel monitor. I've already done some researchin', but some advice would be really helpful. :)

I did that to a monitor one time. It was the same scenario. Broken pins. Hard-mounted cable. I took the monitor apart, performed surgery on the cable (with the help of my trusty soldering iron), and replaced the connector. Worked fine after that. :)

As for a new monitor, I couldn't really tell you. I've been using my 17" CTX for a couple years now, and I still like it. :) I'm not really sure what's on the market right now that's good.

Are you talking about flat panel (lcd) or normal flat screen monitor.
