What's wrong with Canada, anyway?

You Americans seem to have some resentment for Canada. Why?

I mean, Americans and Canadians are so similar! They speak the same language the similar way (r-rolling and long as). They play similar sports (yes, the Canadians do play Football). They both even have trash on TV (LEXX and Jerry Springer are different - but still trash).

ya ever seen a canadian on vacation......in s. florida?

it seams that they for get how to drive when the leave canada. they also forget (or maybe don't know) how to dress. shorts that are too small, button down hawaiian type shirt, "jimmy z" hat, flip down sunglasses, lotion on their nose they forgot to rub in, knee high socks pulled all the way up with flip-flops (thongs for some of you), with a hand bang.

but don't hold it against them.:D ;)

I for one, am a Canadian, I kick ass, and I can dress well too! I have nothing against Americans or anyone else for that matter, but I get a little defensive when people start belittling Canada. We're not as patriotic as you Americans are... So what? Who cares? Yeah, sometimes we say 'eh?' Well guess what, I met an American, and he said 'eh' more than any other Canadian I've ever heard in my entire life.

Also about the Canadians on vacation... You must be mainly looking at the 50 year old British, Dual-Citizenship couples who come down in their gay shirts wearing zinc on their noses and whatnot.

psst - nothing is really wrong with Canada (well, nothing that isn't wrong everywhere else also) - it's just a bit of inter-continental teasing. The British and the French do it all the time!

to be honest, americans who think canadians "have stupid accents" should try comparing them... there's not a huge difference, certainly not a great deal more than you'd get travelling from one side of the US to the other.

but no, i refuse to hate any coutry that can produce a quality band like Rush.

i deffentally agree with this. i personally don't like a new england (rhode island and around there) accent. i wish i could slap some good talking ability into them. being from the country i have a slight twang when i talk whcih might get on there nerves. but how many men/laddies from anywhere else in the us like to hear a country chick talk. theres just something about it.
