although i came here for a technical question, i think i'll stay for a while...

a bit of history: self biased was created march twenty-eight in the final year of the second millenium. while it has gone through several style changes over the few years it has been around, the italicized text seems to be something of a trademark. the creator claims that it's supposed to symbolize a whisper that bypases the ears altogether. self biased is also a veteran of several other forums, such as the apolyton civilization site (http://www.apolyton.net) and the portent forums (http://www.portent.net). its tendency is to lurk, but isn't wholly unsociable.

sorry... i have none of those. and the whole idea of the "whisper" as it is, is that it goes directly into the brain, bypassing the air around it. so, no matter what the din is, i can be heard... **grin**

Oh no no no- I have been Xerxes for several years before Civ 3 even came out. I don't visit those forums over there, I just read their MOO3 articles. :) Imagine my suprise when Civ3 chose him as the Persian leader over a more competent one, say Cyrus the Great or Darius, or even Artaxerxes.
