Hello,

I want to set up a MP3-Server, which streams my MP3´s over my LAN. I want to connect from any computer in my lan to the server and hear the same stream everywhere at the same time(just like radio). So i found SHOUTcast.

Is this the right tool for me?
Is on-deman-serving the mode i need?
Is there anywhere an howto, how to set up the server for on-demand?

I am an 100%-Newbie in the field of MP3-Streaming.

Thank you very much for your help

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
How to Setup On-Demand with SHOUTcast -> Sawg's Lame Rip-Off: On Demand Audio
How to Setup On-Demand with SHOUTcast -> On Demand Audio (Radio Toolbox)

Note: Due to the internal buffer in the DNAS, your chances of hearing the same stream everywhere at the same time are slim to none. They may be close, but not exact. If you want real time like a radio, use a radio transmitter (http://www.ramseyelectronics.com/hk/hkamfm.asp). The FM100B works for me :)

If you want to load a playlist in winamp and repeat playing that for non-stop music fun, go with live mode.
