Insperation

Ok I have made my first skin (I admin it isnt the best) but its a learning curve so im not publishing it but im now confident to make a skin worth to be on the featured list but im in need of insperation were do people get it from? I just need one little idea and I can start so if any one has any old pics on there comp they wouldnt mind me using for insperation id be thankfull any way must make a plane amp to start with or id have nothing to skin on. :)

Inspiration - for me it's usually music and mood; album covers have some terrific coverart, now I'm doing tragic myths, but anything you're interested in works :p Heck, it can be to go with a favorite desktop even, a book cover, movie scene, holiday... biggest thing for me is it has to be something that catches my interest enough to stick with all the way to the end.

Thank you, I think I might have got a idea but I just need to find out how I can actualy use it, is hard when I see amps like yours (topic "if I post this I might finish it") thats the kinda thing I was going to do but I dont have a clue how to make such a nice starting block :( but were theres a will theres a way.

My Skin is going to be Title "The Purple Dragon" (my name) and well heres the base I'm starting with and now I'm about to get my brain going and try make some fancy paly stop pause e.t.c. buttons.

Tsk, tsk.... It's a nice background, beautiful colour, nice flowing... but it will give you problems when you try to integrate the components. Don't start from scratch, use a template like Skinner's Atlas and you'll see which areas you can cover as you wish and which areas will need a simpler background ;)

And while you're with it, you can look at my skins and try to see where inspiration comes from :D

yep, I'd see if I could integrate some overlaying shapes on top of the background for the text and viz areas, not necessarily the exact shapes they are, maybe some smooth flowy shapes, and see where this could go

I dont think I understand what you mean i have managed to get some buttons the title bars and the other bits in the TITLE.bmp file so ill see but if you could explain what you mean more please.

May sound weird but i get graphical inspiration from drawing stuff.

Sometimes when im bored i'll open up psp and just draw some shapes, usually i just scrap it, but sometimes it becomes a skin or an avatar or a sig or something.

If you know html just make a page, upload it and then make the .tk domain link to it.

Theres plenty of html tutorials you can find with google, or you can even use msword to make a basic site.

no i mean how do i get to the file manager i have registered but it then says buy this domain so its a pay thing now?

they don't host files for you, you have to make the website at a different place (geocities, angelfire...something like that), then you can point the .tk to that:

ok so i only get like one front page with a tet link on it
