Hi everyone,
Since I am not used to using DOS programs, I have no idea how to use PNGcrush. But I need to crush my PNGs for my skin- can someone tell me how to use it on a Windows Xp?
Thx,

pngcrush -brute -reduce -d crushed *.png

if only you could do -e like with bmp2png then you could crush them were they are.

PNG Crush didn't come with a .EXE though.. the only file I think that was non notepad editable was a .MSC .
What should I do?
Thanks,

ah i think you downloaded the source for it. Go back and look at the downloads again.

Load this (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1689) page and scroll down until you see pngcrush-executables. Then chose one. I would go with the MMX unless your computer doesn't support it, but I think it does.

I did download the source, but I now have the exe's. Does it work like MC.exe?
Thanks a lot,

As Sawg tried to provide(which I should mention, your links didn't work for me), most people run it with a batch file. I have a batch file and basic instructions here (http://frisbeemonkey.com/winamp3/tutorial/graphics.php), towards the bottom.

But it's run just like mc.exe, right?
I have winxp, so then I can make PNG crush on the right click menu for pngs.

I tried frisbee's method, but no go. All that happened was a folder created (with nothing inside) called '-d'. Can you pls help?
thanks,

It worked fine for me. I used the latest non MMX version with frisbee's .bat file on win98, if that helps.

I don't think it works just like mc.exe, I think the program and bat file have to be in the folder with the png files, without changing the bat file there no way around that that I can see.

Wish I could be more help but I know nothing about XP.
