I had an idea for winamp. Make it so that you could pick your own font. I am assuming there is a way to make it so that winamp could read the fonts from the x:\windows\fonts directory. What do you think about this? Please vote

p.s. I figured i'd post here cause it seemed more related to skins than to a component, but if a mod this thinks this shoudl be moved or wants to cross-post it, thats cool w/ me :).

yea, this way u can have the hand help player skin not have a boring LCD lookign font, but lets say....kids. or times new roman, or whatever the skinner thinks would go well with the skin.

the current ttf engine would have to be revamped before anything like this could realistically be implemented.
as of right now, most people have ttf fonts in their c:\windows\fonts\ dir....and with current xml, if the skinner has bitmap fonts it could get ugly trying to replace them with ttf ya know?

also, ttf fonts and winamp skins don't mix too well as of yet....

it would be piss easy to code this into a skin. just have several fonts, and several like, songtickers and timers. set aup dropdown box to pick a font and maki hides some fonts while showing the correct one...

I'm not saying it's outside of the realm of possiblity
but I think it will only come under 2 conditions....1 being that 3 is in a complete state where TTF fonts have all the capabilities of bitmap fonts; and 2 being that it's done through a 3rd party component
I just can't see this being something that would be distributed with Winamp....maybe coded by Brennan but not distributed..

Question:
Is there a way to make a script that will recognise the language that the title of the song is writen?
I'm from Greece, and many people here listen Greek music and the names of their songs are titled with Greek grammar and font, so I thought with Anemovatis, is there a way to bitmap a font that it's greek and whenever a songtitle wich is writen in Greek to be appeared normaly?

That could make WinAMP Interlanguage supported with bitmapped fonts :)

So what you coders think?
