did anybody do anything?
We did a 11:00 walkout (unfortunatley, I couldn't do this- it would grant me an automatic 0 on a test I took that day) and an 11:30 march.
Tonight at 4:30, a bunch of area high schools are going on a march.

It can't be THAT international, absolutely nothing was going on over here, haven't even heard of it until you posted about it!

Protest of what? School is forced by government in many countries. You have to get an education someway or another. Sure, you can drop out, but where is that going to get you in life? If you're in high school, you only have a few years left of it until you can graduate. Just pays to stick with it. And don't give that lame excuse "It's cool to hate school because my favorite band says it is."

Droz: These, Tom, are your cause-heads. They find a world-threatening issue and stick with it... for about a week.
Moonbeam: What don't we eat?
Crowd: Red meat!
Moonbeam: Why don't we eat it?
Crowd: It's murder!
Moonbeam: If every student on this campus were to starve, it would be worth the life of a calf.
PCU :D

Amen to that, Sawg.
I think many activists don't really care about what they're protesting. What's that? Green beans are rascist, you say? Right, whatever. They're just out to hear their own voices. I think most are also badly in need of something to do, or are otherwise unstimulated.
I'm just not really sure what these sorts of protests are mean to do. If you really want to make a difference, do so in the ballot box, or write an editorial. Protests are so stigmatized that they have lost any impact they may have once had.
You may still get your media coverage, but I think the average person has long since ceased to care what the ravening minority's signs say today.

Yes! Let's protest the war by not learning anything. Brain fasting...
Protesting is so cliche.

i didn't go to university, but i didn't go to the protest either (which was next door). i did get back from work at 6am, though, so i think my apathy to morning events was justified.
