I'm a total newbie in this shoutcast thing so I hope anyone out there could help me out...

1. I have encoded my songs in mp3PRO format... It sounds good... So could mp3PRO be shoutcasted? Will the other party (listener) need any special codec/ plugin to listen?

2. VQFs are good too... Could VQFs be shoutcasted?

3. Besides the songs (mp3s), is there anything else I should upload onto the server? Like the <file name>.ini thing file (the one that sets the no. of max. listeners etc..)

4. I know this one has been asked before.... But I just couldn't find the thread... -> Whenever the listener pressed "stop" and pressed "play" again, the broadcast will start all over again...:weird: So how to disable it...

Please help me...

1.
Check out the results from a SHOUTcast forum search (http://forums.winamp.com/search.php) on 'mp3pro'.

Summary: mp3pro not supported.
You could, however, play your mp3pros and broadcast through the soundcard.

3.
Nothng needs to be uploaded to the server.
The sc_serv.ini/conf needs to be available, though. But since it's already with the executable, leave it there.
Sounds like you are sourcing your DNAS with on-demand content.

4.
Source your DNAS with a Winamp/DSP combo.
With on-demand, there is a set pls you're handing off. If a listener stops, then starts, the pls starts over again. Fix: Use live content.
