Is it possibel to stream multiple streams from one server?
I am not talking about multiple bitrates.
I do that already.
I would like to offer different music streams.
Like one that is just Rock, one that is just Techno and so on.
Is this a reality or do I have to just use another pc?
Thanks,
angst

Yes you can run more then one winamp on one computer. just go to options under winamp preferences and check the box that says "allow multiple instances".

So that would mean that I could run multiple instances of the dsp?

Yep.
Multiple Winamp/DSP instances or multiple Winamp/DSp installs will get you going.

Just curious before I try this but how would that affect performance on that machine?
I have a 1.1 ghz AMD Duron with 512 megs of ram looking at a RAID 5 SCSI NAS for the music.
It seems to run great now, just haven't tested it under a real heavy load.
Thanks,

The more encoders you add, the greater the CPU load.
Is this a dedicated box for streaming/webserving?
If so, then encode away. Else, consider getting one.

Yes it is dedicated to streaming, and we do other streaming off this box too.
We have Real Networks Helix server that does Real streams.
Will try it and let you know how it works.
