Recently, someone told me that use the following setup as a means to take calls live on the air. I haven't heard them use it, so I'm not confident about this advice.
Before I go out to Radio Shack and buy the necessary stuff, I thought I'd ask if someone had an opinion about whether this could work.
What you need:
-a cordless phone with a headset jack in the handset
-a 3/32" Male adapter
-a 1/8" Female adapter
-a RCA cable
-a mixing board
The setup:
-Plug one end of the 3/32" Male adapter into the handset
-Plug the other end into one end of the 1/8" Female adapter
-Plug the other end(s) of the 1/8" Female adapter into the RCA cable
-Plug the RCA cable into the in and outputs of a mixing board
-Have the mixing board connected to the soundcard
I'm assuming when you take a call, you'd answer the handset and speak through it. The phone would act as a mic and the audio would be broadcast through your soundcard.
Could this work?
Thanks!
