LANGUAGE FILES HAVE TO BE UPDATED

Post all updated files in this topic

All NLF and Modern UI language files have to be updated to support several new NSIS features. Even if you are not the original translator, please help us with the translations.

NLF files

Change the header to NLF v4

Add the translation of:

I &accept the terms in the License Agreement
I &do not accept the terms in the License Agreement

after the translation of 'I &Agree'.

Check this page:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/nsis/NSIS/Contrib/Language%20files/English.nlf.diff?r1=1.15&r2=1.16

for the new items in version 4 of the NLF language file.

Modern UI 1.64 language files

Change the version to 1.64

Add the following strings:

MUI_INNERTEXT_LICENSE_BOTTOM_CHECKBOX "If you accept the terms of the agreement, click the check box below. You must accept the agreement to install ${MUI_PRODUCT}."

MUI_INNERTEXT_LICENSE_BOTTOM_RADIOBUTTONS "If you accept the terms of the agreement, select the first option below. You must accept the agreement to install ${MUI_PRODUCT}."

MUI_TEXT_ABORT_TITLE "Installation Aborted"

MUI_TEXT_ABORT_SUBTITLE "Setup was not completed successfully."

MUI_UNTEXT_ABORT_TITLE "Uninstallation Aborted"

MUI_UNTEXT_ABORT_SUBTITLE "Uninstall was not completed successfully."

Modify the following strings:

MUI_INNERTEXT_LICENSE_BOTTOM "If you accept the terms of the agreement, click I Agree to continue. You must accept the agreement to install ${MUI_PRODUCT}."

MUI_UNTEXT_FINISH_TITLE "Uninstallation Complete"

Note: Language strings have been renamed, so download a new version from CVS (use NSIS Update) before updating.

LANGUAGE SPECIFIC FONTS

Both NSIS and the Modern UI support language specific fonts now.

NSIS

The default dialog font is 'MS Shell Dlg'.

Modern UI

The default font for the title on the Welcome/Finish page is 'Verdana', the default font for the header title is 'MS Shell Dlg'.

Change fonts

For non-western languages, these fonts might not work properly (especially on Windows 9x/ME).

If you want to change the dialog font, edit the NLF language file (there is more information in the file). You can also change the codepage.

For the Modern UI, add one or more of the following strings to the language file (see the Modern UI Readme for details).

MUI_FONT_HEADERDER
MUI_FONTSTYLE_HEADER

MUI_FONT_TITLE
MUI_FONTSIZE_TITLE
MUI_FONTSTYLE_TITLE

Please test the fonts with both Windows 2000/XP and Windows 9x/ME.

MAILING LIST

Most translators have not yet added their e-mail address to the nsis-translate mailing list. Please subscripe at http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nsis-translate so you will be informed about language files updates.

following section seems suitable for add a hotkey (for hotkeys_Maniacs such as me ^_^). It still works fine on the checkbox.

!insertmacro MUI_LANGUAGEFILE_STRING MUI_TEXT_FINISH_RUN "Run ${MUI_PRODUCT}"
!insertmacro MUI_LANGUAGEFILE_STRING MUI_TEXT_FINISH_SHOWREADME "Show Readme"

to following..

!insertmacro MUI_LANGUAGEFILE_STRING MUI_TEXT_FINISH_RUN "&Run ${MUI_PRODUCT}"

LANGUAGE SPECIFIC FONTS

Both NSIS and the Modern UI support language specific fonts now.

NSIS

The default dialog font is 'MS Shell Dlg'.

Modern UI

The default font for the title on the Welcome/Finish page is 'Verdana', the default font for the header title is 'MS Shell Dlg'.

Change fonts

For non-western languages, these fonts might not work properly (especially on Windows 9x/ME).

If you want to change the dialog font, edit the NLF language file (there is more information in the file). You can also change the codepage.

For the Modern UI, add one or more of the following strings to the language file.

MUI_FONT_HEADER
MUI_FONTSIZE_HEADER
MUI_FONTSTYLE_HEADER

MUI_FONT_TITLE
MUI_FONTSIZE_TITLE
MUI_FONTSTYLE_TITLE

Please test the fonts with both Windows 2000/XP and Windows 9x/ME.

Is not a problem of the codepage, the problem is related to the OS. Windows 95,98 and Millenium have *limited* multilanguage support. Not even the Romanian version of Microsoft Office, they made special fonts for win9x to make the menus work. Why? Simple, the OS menu, dialogs, windows doesn't handle correct the codepage.

This problem is not specific to Romanian language that has only 4 new special characters, it is common to other languages.

If you do not want to use the both version please use the simple one that is good for all versions. The old version (v3) was simplified like this.

Ok, so AKX's Finnish translation had some youngster "bugs". I somewhat fixed them to make the language more correct... might not be perfect though since it's very hard to translate (so perfect sounding) English IT-words into Finnish
I might take a look at the modern ui translation someday, if it has same kind of things ;)

ps. No offence AKX...

Edit: gah, uploaded the wrong file first, here's the new one :D

I have added a new string to the NLFs for the new AllowSkipFiles command (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136214). Please grab the latest CVS version and update your language's NLF.

The string is:

Error opening file for writing: \r\n\t"$0"\r\nHit retry to retry writing the file, or\r\ncancel to abort installation

Hi,

I suply the NLF v5 translation for Catalan language.

I revised all the translation strings again and I detected that some log messages strings don't have the last white space after the :
Now, they have it, again.

Hello,

If I have to translate "Hit retry" this means that there is a new button Retry.
I've not found it in the .nlf file so Retry button label will not translate in every language. Is it correct?

The retry button is a Windows string and NSIS can't control it. Thank you for your update, uploaded.

kichik

Thanks, necromncr. Can you please update the NLF to v5? It's just another line.

To test your language file either take a MUI example and change !insertmacro MUI_LANGUAGE "English" to !insertmacro MUI_LANGUAGE "Slovenian" or just add it to one of the multi-languages examples.

necromncr

Here is some polished version, was going for examples:
- Here (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/nsis/NSIS/Contrib/Modern%20UI/Language%20files/English.nsh?rev=HEAD&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup) and
- here (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/nsis/NSIS/Contrib/Language%20files/English.nlf?rev=HEAD&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup)

still, my nsis says: Error while loading language file: Language file version doesn't match NSIS version!

And language ID is taken out of M$'s page, any other list that i overlooked?

*help?*

Regards!

kichik
3rd June 2003, 11:07
Since you are creating language files for the latest CVS version you have to use them in the latest CVS version too. Use NSIS Update to get the latest CVS version (choose "Download the latest development files from CVS, merge your changes"). You'll need to make a few small changes to your script. It'll be mainly MUI changes, nothing too big.

The language ID you've found was actually the Slovenian codepage number. NSIS needs the language ID. Slovenian language ID is 1060. You can find out using <nsisdir>Bin\MakeLangID.exe.

Uploaded your translation, thanks.

Anyways, new Japanese translation has been done. Not so much tested, though =)

Changes from previous version:

All Modern UI langauge files have new version numbers

* Files with version 1.65 are up-to-date

* Files with version 1.64 have no LicenseForceSelection texts

* Files with version 1.63 have no abort texts and no LicenseForceSelection texts

NLF versions

* Files with version v5 are up-to-date

* Files with version v2/v3/v4 need to be updated (see the first post and previous topics)

If your language file does not have the 1.65 / v5 version, please update :D

MoNKi
7th July 2003, 12:30
There isn't an english.nsh v1.65 in cvs. Please, can you upload it to see the changes?

Joost Verburg
7th July 2003, 12:40
MoNKi, I have just given the files new version number, to make clear which ones have to be updated. Your files are up-to-date, so there is nothing you have to do :)

It might take up to 24 hours until the latest files are available from CVS (read the "CVS Issues" topic).
