THE DEVIL INSIDE YOUr system

DjEgg said it all " This is no paranoid bullshit" I have other posts that cover this problem so go read'em after you leave here

Well its been a while, little has happened, much has changed. If you are searching for a reason for corrupt files, or files that have been broken into a noise that defies description this may or may not be the cause, IT was however the cause of my troubles. I started this thread to try to figure this out, and figure we did (thank you DjEgg). I was running a Norton's corprate virus(NCV) and a Nortons Personal firewall (NPF). (I don't recommend the NPF but the NCV rocks! BUT NVC by it's self isn't enough. What was acutally going on were three sub seven trojan ops in my system, oddly Mp3's were their only objective. Operative #1 Tamari Nugin Jang, In Soul Korea, Op #2 Verochka Raatko, St Petersburg Russia. These first two were using computers on the fedral university networks where they were students. #3 was a total idiot and was doing this from his home computer where Symantics security hack tracer at <http://security.symantec.com/ssc/vr...MQCKMRKRFPECDME> tracked him to. op #3 Rosnvett Olmstadt, Hamburg Germany. I got addresses, names, even a phone number for Rosnvett. I love the WHOIS command. I didn't call, but it was tempting. I did file full complaints to all three IP's and heard back from them. The investigation is still going.

Now, to keep this from happening again we now run everything through a updated firewall, a network manager and a router this enables totalatarian control over my system and full stealth capabilities, so much for gigo (garbage in garbage out) I HIGHLY RECOMEND that if you are playing with FTP's MP3's or any file sharing programs you #1 Go get Spyware blaster, #2 Get a top notch viral scanner with realtime capabilities, a good firewall, and a router or a hardware firewall router you can get one for about $500.00..yes it's worth it when you concider the time and money it costs you to fix problems that were preventable.
If you get stuck come to the forums and find some one like DjEgg, they are ALOT of help.

ps I have NO problems with ANY Mp3 or any music files since I put this administration in force.

If anyone thinks it would be fun to post the ip and e-mail addys of hackers traced and post them some place ,espeacially when the WHOIS pulls up phone numbers and adresses....hmmm, could get some one injured or worse...WELL I DO!

Sub7? Thats been around for ages now, at least 2 years. Any anti virus or trojan scanner should be able to detect it, and any software firewall should automatically block the ports it uses.

As for hardware firewalls, they still run embedded software, and while they're usually more secure than zone alarm and the like they're definately not bulletproof.

By the way, those guys werent hackers, they're script kiddies with nothing better to do than annoy people.

Heh, why would a hacker want to mess with your mp3s or w/e, when they could hack a nice corporate system.

i chat on irc.****.org (in #******* mostly). i frequently use FTP's and p2p networks. i am not firewalled in any way.

i just use the power of slow-ass dialup and not having anything remotley worth stealing :) (and i get disconnected every 2 hours - new IP)

here's one to look at it is fugged up, no one know what this is maybe you do, it can be played and contains no viruses btu the same thing has gone wrong with about 70 mp3's on my system. this one is the first one to go sour in quite a while, I got a MAC spoof warning today and blocked it, may have something to do with this. As for those of you who think your mp'3 files aren't woth stealing? it's happened to me twice both times I lost 15 gigs, why? who knows.
