I seem to be having problems with using NSVEnc on my ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon video capture card.
It sees the capture driver, and I select it in the startup, and I select the audio source, but after that the program crashes when it confirms the framerate of the source. The program works fine with my webcam.
So, I have a couple questions:
1. Is there any way to play with it so that it doesn't hang, thus having to make me close the window, and crash the video capture driver for this card?
and,
2. When/IF I can get it to use the ATI card, is it possible to configure which source I want it to use? My card uses 3 sources, so it's important that I be able to tell it which ones to use.
Thank you for any help anyone could give me.

I'm having an issue similar to this. I wanted to test it out using audio only. Well I tried it on one machine, it doesn't even see an audio source for some reason and crashes instantly. On another machine it sees the audio device, but as soon as I select it.. CRASH. On a 3rd machine, again as soon as I select the audio device, it crashes. I doubt that it's a setting in the program. Oh well I hope you have better luck with your situation.

Hmm, I tried what you wanted to do, and I just got a GPF, so I guess there are still some bugs that need to be worked out.
Anyway, yeah, I'm hoping to have this issue solved soon, but if the software doesn't support it, then there's nothing I can do, I suppose.

Try using Video For Windows capture instead.
vfwcap: instead of cap:

Thanks Swag, but there's a new problem. :( (if there isn't one problem, there's always another...)
Anyway, I get to the TV source set-up with the video for windows in Windows XP, so far so good. Then comes the part where it's supposed to encode.
I get to about this point:
C:\PROGRA~1\NSVENC>nsvenc /ignoredrops /cfgcap vfwcap:0:0 sc:localhost:8001:headers.txt
NSVenc v0.60 (1/19/03) - Copyright (C) 2001-2003, Nullsoft Inc.
Setting input mode to VFWCAP
Trying to reset the VFW image type...
VFW err: Video bitcount = 16
and get a window popping up saying this:

I did, all that accomplishesis that I don't get the configuration window before it attempts to capture, and gives me an error. :/ Same problem.

i've been following this thread, and i also have the same problem.
the only added information i can give is if i start watching tv with the ati tv software, then try to run nsvenc with vfwcap: -- it just freezes until i give a ctrl+c, then it comes up with the ram message.
if i reboot and run nsvenc before i've opened the ati tv application, it gives me the same symptoms as tssf

I also get this.
Setting input mode to VFWCAP
Trying to reset the VFW image type...
VFW err: Video bitcount = 16
I have a geforce4 ti4200 with myvivo function though. It also wouldn't work with cap:

But without Memory Error message
