C:\PROGRA~1\NSVenc>nsvenc /cfgcap cap:0,N sc:127.0.0.1:8001:headers.txt
NSVenc v0.60 (1/19/03) - Copyright (C) 2001-2003, Nullsoft Inc.
Available video capture devices:
0 nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal)
Available audio capture devices:
0 SB Audigy Audio [D000]
Dshow: reported input fps=29.970000
Dshow: overriding detected fps to 29.97002997
no audio
DShow: error starting capture.
C:\PROGRA~1\NSVenc>

What's the deal?

I've tried different resolutions, PCM audio, 24 bit (no VP3)
- is it because the only colorspace i have is UYVY?

Someone please help :)

I've gotten that error only when I have the shoutcast dsp open. You'll need to run nsv first then load winamp with the dsp. I believe this is an issue with SB, a conflict.

Thanks for the advice, but it doesn't work for me no matter what, even if I don't have winamp loaded, I have no idea why,
don't get me wrong, my capture device works, I watch tv on my puter all the time, and I just tried Microsofts WMA streaming server, which works, but the video is very laggy...

I'm hoping I can get this working and the video will be a lot better.

I'm in the same boat so it seems.

Make sure you downloaded and installed the latest nsv package. It rocks!

Ok, NSVCap works streams, got the shoutcast server to find it and got winamp to connect - winamp says ICY OK or something likee that
server says found connection (from local host), starting stream...
and my winamp just sits on that OK message.
and nothing happens.
would my firewall be screwing something up? i mean it's local on my pc only that i'm casting and watching.

make sure that when you enter your address for your stream you are using winamp2.9 or higher and using the address like

http://yourip:yourport/;stream.nsv
the bolded part is probably what you are missing.

Thanks KXRM, you are on the ball,
but why do you have to write that extra stuff?
if the stream is public, does everyone else too?

You have to do it. Winamp has to know it is a NSV stream. otherwise it will try to play is at MP3. Just how Winamp works, since SHOUTcast was originally just MP3.
