In the US women soccer league only the success counts (just like everywhere) and it is just a side issue how to get to the top. When the energy put linto the game even becomes artistic - like in the game between San Diego Spirit vs. New York Power - even better. San Diego's player Kim Pickup (I'm not kidding, this is her name!) dared to do this weird looking but at the same time dangerous way of throwing in a ball. The spirit team also won 2:0 but not related to the throw in. :)

This could also be a nice "caption contest" picture...:D
So what do you think about women soccer? Do you just watch it because of the women? Do you watch it at all? Tell us your opinion about it!
Mia:)

I dont watch soccer at all, like rugby, australian rules and american football it's one of those sports i just 'dont get'.
Still, that throwing technique's gotta be bad for your back....

I don't watch it. My friend can through in the ball like that. You can clear the field left to right throwing it like that - very powerful throw.

there is no end to my loathing of soccer.

Things wrong:
1) You gotta have two feet on the floor, else its a foul throw
2) the lines are in the wrong place
Also, "soccer" is a wonderful game, both to watch and to play. Point in motion: tonights European Champions League Quarter Final between Manchester UTD and Real Madrid.

that's only when you release the ball.

Yeah, it's completely legal if you land and throw with both feet on the ground and the ball goes straight over your head. Keeping both feet on the ground during the entire approach would be difficult.:p

yeah, that's what they call it.
You can't really use football on international forums though - almost everyone who knows english knows what soccer is - football would be confused with american football.

football is just another example of how great america is.
We have taken a sport the rest of the world loves, and re-named it and shown remarkable apathy towards it. USA! USA! USA!
