Guys, Anyone wanting to get a Internet LEGAL Video group together, where we can advertise Bean-Net to support the servers and any possible money we have to put out threw legal sponsorships. This will take time to get permission from like you said, The Simpsons, Friends, The Bachlor (And it's sequal) and any other shows, possibly Jackass, Punk'd anything you want, but I would want it 100% Legal threw the companies name. If intrested please let me know threw Ken@Bean-net.Net or reply here. Thanks guys!

Im just wondering if my 150kbps upload could do a rebroadcast of TechTV. cuz I have it here and would only need to get a digital TV tuner to do it. the server would be the main problem, but im sure there are enough TechTV fans out there to support this. ;)

maybe post a ice big topic in TechTV forums and see if they can start their own webcast? ;) sound like a good idea to me.

i wouldn't be surprised if tech-tv would host it themselves... i mean, cause the commercials will be on, so they will get paid....

well, since I am on their forums now I will see about posting a topic about it.

well, posted the topic last night, but due to their forums being in heavy need of recoding, the post has not shown up yet. I have been assured that it is still there and not closed or anything by a forum mod. but as I said earlier, the forum has a ton of bugs and one is that the topic list doesnt update all the time, so sometimes the latest topic shown will be like several hours old. im stil keeping an eye out though for it and am desperately waiting for any responses on that topic.

Has Nullsoft clarified the use of NSVENC tools for commercial use though.

According the License Agreement ( Included with the latest set of
NSV Tools, dated 19 April 2003 ) commercial use is strictly prohibited.
Unless they have updated the NSVENC License Agreement.

NSVENC Licence Agreement

1. License Grant. Nullsoft, Inc grants Licensee a free-of-charge,
personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to install and
use the executable code version of the NSV encoder . . . . .

Yes, but from that I guess it would be ok as long as TechTV does not charge to view the broadcast and does not make any kind of money of it. and even at that, if that is not allowed, im sure that having someone else like me broadcast it would be allowed.

Don't get me wrong, You have a excellent idea. However you should approach this with caution. Tying to "second guess" a legal agreement is not for the inexperienced.

Both the Shoutcast DSP plug in and DNAS server are available for commercial and non commercial use, I hope that NullSoft will make NSV the same way one day. :)
