Ok. I am having the "we cannot see your station/computer" problem on shoutcast now since I have DSL. even though my computer is directly connected to the modem, I have this problem. so my question is how would I get trhe correct ip to be on the shoutcast site if I make the station public?

P.S. No Firewall, no router, just simple DSL modem between my computer and the outside world. amd yes it does have a web interface which does allow a slight bit of changes

Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

nm. it seems to be working fine now. the dnas gives no error's, and the link on the shoutcast site is correct. guess it might've been due to my connection being brand new at that time. im not sure. all I know is that it was giving me that problem a couple nights ago and now it is working fine.

sorry to bring this back up, but apparently I still get this problem. dunno why. after I get done bruning this one cd here I will try and run a few tests on this. I can give a few details on what is going on though. 1, dont have a static ip, but one ip usually stays for about a week or so before changing. 1, just a dsl modem between me and the outside world, no firewalls. 3, checked radiotoolbox.com, says there is a server running on my computer, but when I try to access the server, it dont come up unless I use http://localhost:8000/

as I said, when im done with this one cd, I will run some tests on it and will surely post more here for you guys to help me out with this. but due to having a very old computer, I have to run nothing but cd burning software at nothing above 4x in order to burn a cd successfully.

ok. checked a couple places including radio toolbox and my current ip is . the dnas port is 8000. so the full link should be . please feel free to tune in and give some feedback. but the main thing I am looking for is for someone to tell me if it works for them. cuz it surely dont for me.

cool. guess its just I cant use the outside address on my end to test it. have to stick to the localhost address

P.S. if you remove the 8000 off of that you can actually access the admin panel for my dsl modem (dont know if it works for you guys or not, but it does for me). of course I know that is stupid to post, but it does have a lock to prevent access, so :p
