i ask this question..because i am buying a dedicated server for 99 a month and its gonna have linux redhat 8.0 on it, i get shell access to it and i was wondering if SHOUTcast server will work on it?

Although I haven't ran the DNAS on RH 8.0 it shouldn't be a problem.

It will work, but watch your bandwidth consumption. Shoutcast is the easiest way to end up over your head in BW charges.

Yeah if you're thinkin bout buying RackShack 99.00 deal, i'd NOT run SHOUTcast on that server, as was stated. You will be eating up that 400GB of BW in days.

if one person listened all month at 128k, that'd be about 43 gigs give or take a few...
