I've named my headers.txt file "mmradio.txt".
I get an: "Error parsing connect string:
string =
nsvscsrc 66.227.96.154:6501:mmradio.txt c:\videos

maybe it has to be headers.txt then :)

So from a host providers standpoint, they cannot host multiple pre-encoded video broadcasters on the same box?
Doesn't make a whole lotta sense.

I'd really like an answer to the above question. This affects not only broadcasters but dnas hosts as well.
Thanks in advance.

it works here with multiple file names try checking the file over for any problems or differences

Heres the connect string that can't be parsed:
nsvscsrc 66.227.96.154:6501:mmradio.txt c:\videos
Heres the error:
C:\Program Files\NSVenc>nsvscsrc 66.227.96.154:6501:mmradio.txt c:\videos
Adding file to list: 'above_and_beyond.nsv'

Heres my Headers file renamed as mmradio.txt:
password
content-type:video/nsv
icy-metadata:1
icy-name:MetroMixRadio.com Trance TV
icy-genre:Trance
icy-pub:1
icy-br:150
icy-url:http://www.metromixradio.com
icy-irc:#chan
icy-icq:1234567
icy-aim:metromixradio
icy-reset:1
Maybe another pair of eyes might help.
Thanks for the reply.

ok played somemore and found that it gave me that error only when it couldn't find the *.txt file, here is what i tried for commands
nsvscsrc localhost:4081:adsf.txt video
nsvscsrc localhost:4081:headersto.txt video
nsvscsrc localhost:4081:headers.txt video
when I used a name that didn't match what I had in the nsvenc directory in other words, using a filename in the command that didn't exist I got:
C:\PROGRA~1\NSVenc>nsvscsrc localhost:4081:adsf.txt video
Adding file to list: 'test.nsv'
Adding file to list: 'test1.nsv'
[re]Connecting to localhost:4081
Error parsing connect string
So start there, make sure that mmradio.txt exists in the same directory as nsvscsrc and that you are in the NSVenc directory when you execute the command.

The txt file is on a remote server with dnas, not locally. Is this an issue? It wasn't for live encoding.
thank again for your reply.

You need to have the txt file e.g. the headers.txt file on your local machine so it can be found by the software.. It passes the info from the headers.txt to the server.. so the file must be on the local machine inorder for it to be found

Did you ever manage to get it to work?
I'm also geting this error parsing connection string
I've tried about every combination.
NSV Live Capture is working fine, but streaming from a .nsv file not.

I use this command line (in a .bat file, but is the same)
nsvscsrc my.server.com:8001:my_conf.txt C:\NSV_Files\
and the my_conf.txt is something like this...
mypass
content-type:video/nsv
icy-metadata:1
icy-name:My Name - my.server.com
icy-genre:Video
icy-pub:0
icy-br:40
icy-url:http://my.server.com
icy-irc:
icy-icq:
icy-aim:
icy-reset:1
and works fine...i don't get any parsing error....

To djqwest, and to any other people who might be having this error. The solution is as stated above: to move your headers.txt file (or whatever you choose to name it) to the SVCenc directory where you installed the NSV tools.
For me, and this may be something recent that the help files have not been updated for, the actual default directory was c:\program files\NSV tools
Basically though, you have to put your headers.txt file into whatever directory you installed nsvscsrc.exe.
Good luck with it.
