Fickle

The trees are budding, flowers are emerging, by nose is clogged with pollen-enduced snot. Ahhhhh, warm weather is here for me, and as always it's greeted with wide open arms, despite the nose drippings.
It's an awakening feeling that sets into me when it's warm enough to keep my window open all night, wear shorts and flip-flops, and wander the neighborhood on my bike, instead of going from house to car as little and quickly as possible. The sky is blue today, but I even welcome the hot summer rains that one can stand out in and scream at the sky, watching the lightning on the porch as a cool breeze kicks in from the West.
The hot feel of sand beneath my feet, the girls on the beach, glancing at me over thier sunglasses. The waves glassy and wet, my board under me, the wax grabbing at my skin.
Driving fast at night, my windows wide open and things fluttering about in the backseat, a nap in a park, a dip into the river. Water beneath my canoe, iced tea on my breath and a fat steak on the grill.
These are what Spring and Summer mean to me--what do they mean to you?
