I want to restart me DNAS server to impliment configuration changes I made, but I can't find it. I set it to hide the Console, and now it's gone. I can't even find it in the Windows Task Manager. It's still running though - people are able to pick up my stream, but I can't find it.

I tried to reopen it with the program icon in the start menu, but that simply opened another instance of the console, which told me the console is already running. Where is it then?

Please help.

PS. I also need to know how to name my station. I see a field to add in the description, but none for the official name.

My station: -> http://142.161.25.130:8000

Should be a task called sc_serv.exe

Description includes stream title. Here is your current setting:
Stream Title: An eclectic Mish Mash of MP3s. Everything from Rock to country to dance. Everything! Check it out for an hour and see just how eclectic it gets...

Thanks. got it restarted, but my stream is still not showing up on Shoutcast.com. Hmmmm.

PS. One more thing. Does the volume control on winamp affect the out stream. Can I turn it down to use other programs and have the songs still broadcast?

Any errors in the DNAS log?

Do you see "yp added me" and "yp touched" messages in the DNAS log?

"yp added me" means your station information (station name, bitrate, maximum number listeners, current number listeners, currently playing song, ...) has been added to the SHOUTcast yp (yellow pages) directory.

"yp touched" means your station information (station name, bitrate, maximum number listeners, current number listeners, currently playing song, ...) has been updated in the SHOUTcast yp directory.

It can take up to 15 minutes after the first "yp touched" message before your station appears from a SHOUTcast yp search.

Q: Can I turn it down to use other programs and have the songs still broadcast?
A: Try using the null output plugin. Winamp -> Ctrl+P -> Plugins -> Output -> Nullsoft NUll...

If you don't have it, search the plug-ins section of http://classic.winamp.com

This is the error I got:

[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 142.161.0.92:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

The IP address 142.161.0.92:8000 is not my address. Mine's 142.161.25.130:8000

How do I fix this?

Ps. Thanks for all your help

http://142.161.25.130:8000 isn't working anymore.

Is your DNAS on?

Do you have a dynamic ip?

Actually my IP changes everytime I reconnect to the internet. The new address for my station is now. http://142.161.32.16:8000/listen.pls

I'd like to have a static IP address, but once I get onto the YP server it shouldn't matter right?

Get a static name, such as foo.bar.com, for your dynamic ip at http://www.no-ip.com

Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls
