OK when I discovered winamp started having videos that could only be played on winamp I wanted to see them but when I tried to watch real player would jump in and try to play them which it couldn't and that frustrated me but then I thought if I could get the isp location addy like I do with some shoutcast stations and add it in directly that would work and I looked on the real player browser and copied that addy and pasted it into winamp I have win3 btw and hit opened it and hit play and sure enough it worked. I just love it when I outsmart lameass real player. I would get rid of it altogether but I need it for certain sites especially since KNAC.COM brought back broadband and thats the only way to get it. oh well stay cool Dave:D  :winamp:

get rid of the real media agent.

That will solve 99% of this problem, then you will need to reassociate the PLS file type to winamp.

I didn't say get rid of real player I said get rid of it's agent. When real player is not running and you see a real player Icon in your system tray that's the agent. It's what real player uses to preserve it's file types.

How, exactly, do you get rid of the Real agent. I've deselcted preferences/associations for all media types in Real and deselected the "check to keep my settings" box. My media preferences/associations are all set to Winamp. However, when I click on a an .nsv limk the Real player still opens (uselessly). WTF?

you need to disable the agent, that's the icon that sits in your system tray even after you have shutdown the player. usually you right click on it and choose preferences and look for it's settings to disable.
