Is there any way for me to do a live NSV stream of what's on my computer screen, using NSVCap? (Without physically pointing a camera to the monitor...)
actually there is, just not with NSVcap by itself. You need a screen capture utility that can pipe it's video to a virtual capture device, there are at least 2 pieces of software that do this out there. Check out:
http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/default2.asp
and
http://www.luminositi.com/
neither are free solutions haven't found one of those yet, but they are trial ware.

Ok thanks. They both seem to work, but if I were to play something in Windows Media Player, would it get the video, or would it just be blank? (Same with Winamp video, would it get the video, or would it be blank)
blank most likely as directx is involved I believe and will essentially bypass the system sending interfacing directly with the video card. it will really depend on the encoding format used for the video file I believe. If you want to just stream stuff from files use nsvscsrc.

Use it myself, either broadcast from your desktop of a webcam.
Hope this helps you,

Yeah, I've used camtasia studio which is the one from techsmith.com.
It's pretty nice. You may have seen my stream in winamp recently. One thing I haven't figured out is how to do capture of 3d stuff like games. I can do it at 1 fps, but it still kills the game pretty much.
Oh, and you can make it so that you can see stuff in video windows. Either go to display properties and set hardware acceleration to none, or in camtasia there is an option to do it automatically. It will then enable and disable acceleration when you start and stop capturing stuff.

I went threw all 3 of these programs. I need a program, That can
1) Broadcast a single file
2) Able to tune into my TV Card, Not sure on how this is working because I keep getting this error when using NSVCap to use a device : Error 800004002 : Cannot find VCapture:IAMStreamConfig - Don't know what that means, following that error there is this : This Graph cannot Preview.
3) Go to a live Cam right away so we can have some live touch into this.
For all people wanting to broadcast a game, You can have 1 computer tune into the game, the output it threw a Video card that can go to a TV, then the TV sends out a single to the TV Tuner card and that shows as channel 4 :)

I've thought of that, but as I don't have any other nice computers, this wouldn't work. I also don't have a capture card right now, but that could be solved pretty easily.

If you do, then you'd have to flip the switch to Channel 3.
Also, I would think THE BEST way to broadcast a game would be to hook your game console up to a TV Tuner Card and then run the software for it, and then open the window up to full screen once the broadcast begins so you can see the action going on. I quit using PC versions of games a long time ago. They're too unstable IMHO.
Just my $.02 worth...Cheers for now :-)

I like your idea for your games. Only problem is if you playing Half Life - Counter-Strike the amount of CPU Conversion and playing would be a dual 2.8 Ghz system. Likely = not possible. PC Games must be ran on different computers than the convert. Nice try with the sarcasum :)

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. I play sports games (mostly from EA Sports) and now that XBOX has gone LIVE on the 'Net, I wanna get me an Xbox complete with accessories to play my games online (once I get them of course :) ) so then this way, my opponent isn't the CPU, which I can usually beat 9 times out of 10 (sometimes rather handily at that). I suggested the TV Tuner Card and console approach because it's hardly a secret in the gaming world that PC's are just too unstable and too dependent on DirectX.
There HAS to be another way of making PC games more stable , even if it's an Open Source Project. This would not only provide an alternative for game developers and PC owners, but would also make gaming via Linux machines and other OS' possible too. :)
