I haven't bought a CD in years, because I don't paticipate
in the greed of the recording industry, and the crap
they put out for too much money.
But I've made an exception for this one:
Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
It is a great CD!
Every song on it.
Go get it!

Thanks for that, looks interesting, might give the DVD a miss, don't have the time to sit and watch music DVD's, but the CD looks good.
Heh, this was recorded when I less than a year old, but I grew up with Led Zep being played by my parents....

This is sad!
Only 1 response.
What happened to the days when music threads
meant something around this place?
Maybe it's because there's no forum to discuss music anymore.

A music forum would kick ass. Then we could have 10 "Greatest Song" threads all at the same time. (Yay!) It would be cool, but it might not work out so well.

Yep a music forum would be great.
But it will never happen as long as the idiots
that run this place are in charge.
We used to have one, but steve thought a music forum
wasn't needed, so he got rid of it.
I guess he, and all the rest of the admins/mods have forgotten
that Winamp is a music player,
and that these forums were originally for the music community.
But hey, we have a new stupid game forum.
Oh well, fuck the music, right steve?
There's no place for music and the Nullsoft Winamp Forums.
Thanks for the news papadoc, will definitely take a look.
Agreed this forum is pretty well hidden nowadays, there used to be a time when it was prime post pumping territory and featured strongly, but also served a useful purpose as well if used sensibly.

I am going out to get this later today. How albums and DVD's like this can get less publicity than the sort of songs that get churned out from TV programs beats me.

Could anyone actually add a music forum? I think it would be a great idea.

You bet Mr Jones.
Thanks again.
So now I'll humbly apologize for my outburst above.
Zep rules! I discovered them in 1972 when I heard "Whole Lotta Love" for the first time. Although I later discovered metal in a big way I never gave up on Zep. They started it all for me.
The DVD ROCKS big time. The Earls Court and Knebworth footage are priceless!! You can see the chemistry between Page and Plant.
It's great to see these images we have waited for such a long time.

Got the CD on Wednesday, boy is it great.
I love the guitar solo in the middle of Heartbreaker, the part where Page does a classical guitar ditty then goes back into the rift of Heartbreaker is god-like.
But listening to the CD got me thinking, what bands these days play one song that ends up lasting 25 minutes? I'm guessing that these days people go to live gigs and want it to sound just like the album.

I'll be able to give it a listen today after work.
We had "family night" last night which includes dinner and a movie.
Dinner was meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
(Which may not be altogether uncommon, but my wife is Japanese/Hawaiian. She usually makes seaweed this, pickeled that, fish something, rice, rice, and more rice, and other stuff I don't even know what the hell it is. Having Haole (e.g. non-Hawaiian, white-guy) food is a real treat  )
Movie was Star Trek: Nemesis
Not a bad night. (I did get to drool over the cd packaging, though)

I played it all last night and today on FesterHead FM.
Closed eyes, loud volume, and a fresh set of strings on the air bass provide wonderful memories.
As with early live Rush, this early 70's live Zeppelin captures the power and energy of a musical masterpiece.

Glad you liked it festerhead.
They've been one of my favorite bands since the beginning.
(I'm used to eating country meals all the time.
Mama Festerhead's cooking sounds good to me)
