Hi. I'm new here! I heard about SHOUTcast through a new affiliate of my company's and I was wondering just exactly how it works. I'm going to take a stab in the dark here but I'm guessing you upload the music to the server hosting your website correct? Also, each listener connected takes away 1.1 MBs or 1.1 KBs? Is that per minute, per hour, per second, or completely? If I could get some answers it would be much appreciated! I would like to set up a radio station on my company's site with our clients and other artists and right now I have an mp3.com station. (Which my clients would HAVE to be an artist on mp3.com in order for them to take part). I enjoy the capabilities they give me, but in a lot of cases they're too restricted. If you don't know what I mean, go to: http://www.mp3.com/omgpromo A search will come up...my station is the only available one that matches so you can go right to it. In order for one to get a 'radio station' feel they'd have to stream all audio. HOWEVER, they can navigate between the songs and I'm not sure I like that option because it makes the listeners miss out on some good songs! (Sometimes the beginning is misleading and the actual song starts later on.) Oh! And I learned that SHOUTcast also works with RealOne Player. :) (I found that out because I don't have winamp.) Well as I mentioned, a response just explaining the process to me would be great! Thanks for your time! :)
