Yep, remember Lars Ulrich and Metallica?
And how much they hated Napster and all you old Napster users?
Well, seems like they've changed their opinions...sort of:

http://news.com.com/2100-1027_3-1012785.html

And I find it odd that they say the reason they hated Napster,
wasn't because of the piracy of their music,
but the bad quality of the music shared on Napster.
When exactly did the quality of their music start to matter,
instead of all the money the said they were loosing?
Maybe they know the CD isn't gonna sell without some type of gimmick...

"But up until now, the existing distribution methods have not passed the kind of 'quality' standards our fans have come to expect from us."

Whose gonna bet against me that the "quality" downloads offered here are something like 64kbps DMA encrypted WMA files or something...

i have a very large attitude of negativity towards the more recent, yet also popular, metallica. ever since napster they've been goin downhill, and in my educated and emancipated opinion i would come to the conclusion that they are descending earthwards on that hypothetical road.

'Ergo, hence, therefore...' our verbiose compatriot mirrors my sentiments, only with a greater compound of verbiage than I would deem the situation necessitates.

I still love the Black album, but they're past their time, and once they condemned Napster and created all the shit they did a few years ago, they lost all of my respect.

ok, in order for you to get the mp3's off the site you have to buy the album first...doesn't that defeat the purpose of getting a song online? :igor:

Now now... Everyone's got the right to have their opinion about something even if doesn't suit you! I think! Just because they didn't like Napster that doesn't mean they don't deserve respect!

Almost all of the big bands have something against the filesharing for it goes against all of their economical interests!

It's market law that rules (unfortunately! :( ).

They're still one of the greatest bands of all times!

Now, don't get me wrong! I am one great user of Grokster! I am 100% in favor of filesharing!

I don't much agree with that! The only thing I see that is ruining their career is their last album! I hated it! I loved all of the previous!

:p :p
