Retailers importing Nintendo products to the UK and other European territories from North America and the Far East, will no longer just be up against Nintendo's displeasure, as it was revealed that the Japanese giant has now issued offending retailers with cease and desist warnings.

Offending retailers and importers will not only be barred from importing Nintendo hardware and software - they will also be inhibited from selling Nintendo products in the future. Another way to help stop this movement of products would of course be for Nintendo to release products in Europe at the same time as they do in America and Japan, thus removing the demand that such illicit supply fulfils.http://www.ferrago.co.uk/story/1683

I don't understand what's wrong with retailers importing games in UK. I would buy imported games if I was in the UK and had to wait longer for them to be released there.

I wouldn't import anything that I can actually buy as a PAL version game, but games like Animal Crossing I'd have to import (thanks to the evil people who live on the other side of the English Channel/North Sea. I tell them, LEARN SOME F*BLEEP!*ING ENGLISH!

Cool! New video games coming out in the US the same day as Japan! Awesome!

Isn't the reason for this that you have to chip your console in order to play these games, hence allowing you to play pirate games too?

I just wait for whatever version of whatever game to be released here in The States. If the game isn't in English or isn't made for the US, then I don't want it.
