Why transcode? Just broadcast in Ogg Vorbis to the server. Try using oddcast (http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/).

But if you want to transcode (it will sound even worse) use Stream Transcode (http://www.oddsock.org/tools/streamTranscoder/)

Hey there,

Cova Communication's tries to offer services for every solid linux based streaming technology offered as it is a proven with stability. Right now we do transcoding of streams from our servers to our streams or remote streams. Limitations are only those with todays shoutcast linux transcoder.

Perhaps we might be missing something viable to streaming - if so let us know and we will do our best to implement it in our linux enviroments for your service. If your have further questions, visit our site at www.CovaCommunications.com and visit the contact section.

Hope we can help you out! :) Have a good one.
