Greatest Musician Ever

Hi Friends!

I am new to the winamp community.. Not that I am a new user of winamp.. but I am a bit late to join the forum. Now that I am a member I would like to post a topic which is quite debatable. As users of winamp I guess everyone is deep into music, atleast into listening music. I would like to know your favorite musician, the one you consider above all. The greatest of all time. THE GREATEST EVER MUSICIAN. As for me I vote for USTAD NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN !

Michelle Branch. She has made three albums:

Hotel Paper (out on the 24th June)

Whatever mood I am, I enjoy her music, and the words mean something. She plays the electric guitar and the acoustic in her songs and she is in her early 20's and I feel that her music is very unique, inspiring and I respect her for her pure talent. I cannot really say this about much modern music.

A truly great musician is a lot of things- not just musical skill. He must have the cult of personality- he must be charismatic, he must be a showman.

To me, the classic exemplification of that is Niccolo Paganini the violinist. He was probably the first musician ever to really have a giant fan following comparable to 'rock stars' today-in that scores of fans followed him, and he toured the entirity of Europe. Furthermore, many people truly thought he had actually made a deal with satan for his gift, and he encouraged it by acting the part of a possessed man not in control on the stage.

His playing was flamboyant, violent- and simply spellbinding. Here was a man who appeared on the quaint music scene with technique that scared ******* richochet bowing, lefthand pizzicato. He once arrived
to perform a sonata in a concert hall, and surprised everyone by playing the entire thing at twelve notes per second. On another famous occasion, he played a piece so violently that be broke 3 strings and successfully finished the entire thing on the G string- to a wild ovation at it's finish.

He was the original virtuoso- all other individually recognized musicians follow in his footsteps.

I love disturbed so I'm tempted to say one of them, but they aren't great musicians.

I guess I would have to narrow it down to either Joe Perry or Eric Clapton.
