How do you go about streaming what is being displayed on your monitor. I am just trying to figure out how do stream a fullscreen game I play called CounterStrike through nsv, into my viewers winamps. But how do you go about setting that up?

Can't. Only real way is to send your monitors output to a capture device. You would probably need two different computers to do this. One with a capture device and another that supports TV Out.
For all particle purposes: no.

I'm not sure if it'll work with NSV but you can use Camista (www.techsmith.com) to both capture video and it comes with a driver to let you display it live. I know it works with WME.

Can I direct "CAMTASIA" to shoutcast's source so my viewers can watch what's onscreen?

Well you have make sure Camista's on and set to live. Then just load the driver into nsvenc like you would any other driver.

What you can do is use one computer to send the output to a TV, then use another computer with a capture device (such as a FireWire capture card) to broadcast it via NSVCAP.

So you NEED two computers inorder to do this? Is it possible to do it on one? :l

I like Chiklit's idea, if you can contact me and show me exactly how to load NSVenc with CAMTASIA, then I think it would work pretty fine. Hopefully it does :)

1. Download Camtasia (http://www.getafile.com/cgi-bin/merlot/get/techsmith/999/camtasiaf.exe).
2. When you're installing Camtasia be sure to select live output.

3. Once it's installed open Camtasia Recorder.

4. Goto File > Input and select what you want to broadcast.
5. Goto File > Output and select Live.

6. Click record to start recording.

7. Set up nsvenc as shown here (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=117781).
8. In the same folder nsvenc is in run this:
nsvenc /cfgcap cap:2,N sc:127.0.0.1:8001:headers.txt
Change the 2 in cap:2,N to which ever number Camtasia is. (In my case it was 2 because my tv card was 0 and my webcam was 1).
9. Start encoding and test it!

A little messed up on step 7/8. Do you have AIM/ICQ/MSN?

How do I use "Window Capture" with the "Live Output" selected?

When you use window, after you press the record button it'll allow you to select which window on the screen you want to record. Just move the selecting box around and click on which ever window you want. Then it'll record only the area that that window is in.

You frame rate will probably plummit to the depths of unplayability if you try to run camtasia and a 3D shooter at the same time. Both the game and Camtasia are very CPU intensive.
I know how to use Camtasia fairly well ,and I've tried this both with the live and recorded output. Your best bet is to capture the video output of your videocard with one of the other methods mentioned while playing the game, and then rendering that footage to .nsv format so you can stream it.

yeah you probably wouldn't want Camtasia running if you were doing heavy processing. The only problem I see with the other option is (at least with my card) you can't output to your moniter and the TV at the same time. and it's really hard to read a computer screen on a tv.

I agree, i've notice my 3D shooter game went really laggy while I had CAMTASIA recording my screen "live", NSV streaming it to winamp, and me being connected to the server i'm streaming in, on the game. It takes up a lot of CPU resources, and eats alot of bandwidth. How do I prevent this? and have make everything for smooth?

On my Camtasia it doesnt allow me to change what window it is recording while in LIVE mode, it just has a box in the top left with green box corners. :-\

You gotta set what window it records before you go LIVE.
