Is there any freeware out there that will let me convert my wma files to an mp3 format?

It is not recommended to convert between to lossy (mp3, wma, ogg, etc.) because of loss of quality and data. Instead, re-rip your CDs using CDex.

Yes use cdex to rip your mp3s, since mp3s are superior to ogg ;)

Use CDex to rip Your CD's into OGG's.
I think CDex can do the conversion you desire but its seriously not recommended cuz You will notice the loss of audio quality.
Even with shitty speakers.
