Hi,
Winamp it's the next generation in global multimedia casting technology that's for sure !
But here is something new to implement in the winamp player/caster system.
This concept is written from a user perspective but it has some technical implications. To make it clear I ve created a prototype as well the url is displayed at the end of the article.

"First of all Global Dance Connection(GDC) is a new multimedia program format that connects television, internet and intercontinental (dance) stages in a real time and optional interactive manner.
On each continent (or location) a selected number of public dance stages are continuously monitored by a camera. What happens on stage is transmitted by streaming media servers as far as it fits within a local time window between 23:00 – 24:00. This broadcasting time slot travels around the world periodically covering each stage. So during 24 hours a day all people tuned to the GDC program can witness what is happening on stages, at that time fitting into the specific local time window.
Simultaneously everything happening in front in front of all cameras that constitute the GDC network is registered and fed into the internet.
So we have a worldwide performing platform open to all new kind of talents. Local networking people and mobile cameras create a infrastructure for additional communication. The GDC website will be visited by closed user groups, dedicated dance experts and will contain related interactively accessible subject areas.
The open structure of the GDC network, varying from Detroit or New York Harlem to official dance institutions including theaters, the perception and exchange of brand new(sub) culture dance movements and experiments becomes visible and accessible.
In all cases a carefully balanced selection of dance podiums and stages including unofficial and professional places will create an attractive mix so worldwide attention is to be expected.
The internet community that will grow around the GDC may not be only appealing to youngsters of all race and nations but also can result in international dance festivals, competitions, training centers and TV programs.
It goes without saying that the GDC format can be adapted to other performing arts. Because new trends in dance are closely related to the increasing variety of life styles of individuals and groups the GDC will hopefully function as a catalyst for international cultural innovation and the emancipation of new styles and groups of people around the globe.
There is one prototype available on line visit this URL and explore the thought and vision behind Global Dance Connection.
