Nokia buys into Sega

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (Reuters) - Nokia, the world's largest mobile phone maker, made an aggressive push into video gaming, by agreeing to acquire Japanese game maker Sega's multiplayer online games business.

Where will it end, let us hope that it dosn't end with Nokia swallowing up Sega totaly, that would be a loss.

Why do they even think they have a chance against big N in the portable industry?
Well... what did the online multiplayer division put out? Nothing I played. I dont like multiplayer and console.

And how are you going to use it on those long haul flights ?, after all you can't switch mobile phones on in aircrats, GBA's on the other hand you can, I know what I'll be taking with me on my next overseas flight.....

That's kinda sad, actually. I love Nokia for making great phones, but I think they should stay with just that... making phones. I wasn't overly excited when I heard about the N-Gage, and honestly, I hope it fails so that they realize where they need to be in the market. I agree with laz... Nokia needs to leave the games to the real game companies.

300 dollars? bloody hell! a classic gba is about £60 new! sp is about £90 and most people allready have a decent phone!

Yeah, I just got a new phone today, as a matter of fact. It's a Nokia 3585i... I had to get it because they don't offer any good plans for my old phone (they're phasing out the system that my old phone runs on). I haven't really had a chance to try my new phone out yet, but I like it so far. And no, I'll never play the built-in games on it, either. :)

my phone has a horrible incarnation of blackjack and video pocker.

when i was in apcs i made a way better version of blackjack and pocker.
I even made a JS version of StripBlackjack. If that was on a phone I'm sure you would play it.

I don't do card games. Well, there was this one time when I played strip poker...
