Ok, I'm fleshing out my PS2 games library and what is lacking in it right now is a good fighting game.
So I'm waiting for your opinions : what's the best fighting game on the machine. Games that have drawn my attention so far are Tekken 4, VF 4 evolution, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Soul Calibur 2.
Any clues ? :D

VF 4 evolution is excellent game though it involves more then mere button mashing to master. Its highly acclaimed in both depth and graphics offering much for both the one and two player. The training mode "Kumtae" is an excellent resource that I have yet to see rivaled, the AI is of excellent tear for its based on actual players in Japan VF tournaments. if your more in favor of some button mashing action, then I suggest Soul Calibur 2 much easier to pick up and it does have some decent extras, though VF 4 evo is only $20 which is an excelent price for an excelent game. ultimately rent each with a couple friends and decide yourself (the best plan).

Here are some reviews of VF 4 Evo from some renound game critics.
