The most horrible thing I could ever think of just happened. A game itself just deleted my saves and I can't do anymore new saves.
The game I'm talking about is a lovely multimedia product for the whole family where you can blow out the enemy's brains in over ten different ways or whatch when they (the enemy) bleed to death with a arm or leg blown of with a shotgun.
I'm talking about Soldier of Fortune II, of course.
I had reached the fourth level of the biolab in Kamchatka and I was just about to find doctor [insert a strange Russian name here] when I wanted to save. 'n so I did. Then I had to do some other stuff so I left the SOF II menu open for maybe 15 minutes. Then I wanted to reload an earlier save so I could enjoy blowing up the lab again before jumping up on that lift thing and going to the ventilation channels and hear the doctor and a soldier talk.
I was shocked and horrified when I saw that all my saves were all GONE. Not the levels, I'm still able to start a level I've been on before, but the list of my saved situations is EMPTY. And I can't make any new saves.
I know, I maybe had a bit too much of these saves about 90, but there are no warnings about having too many saves in the documentation.
I would find it interesting to know where my saves are. I looked in the program folder but didn't find any folder with saves or any normal file that i think contains my saves.
Could anyone tell me a bit about the anathomy of the SOF II saving systems. AND WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSES TO DO NOW.

Apparently the game has major problems with too many saved games.

It appears that they may actually still be there, but that you'll have to fiddle with them manually to get them back. If you have too many, this of course would relate to your not being able to save.
