What Music Do U Listen To?

I'm not restricted to any genre or era. However, I'll avoid chart music like the plague as it barely qualifies as music.

How can you say that? Many of the 60-90's standards I have seen extolled so much in this forum before being retro/oldie/classic rock were chart music. Even Eine Klien Nachtmusik was for the popular audience of it's day. Elvis was chart. Sinatra was chart.

Then you are missing out on the majority of the cultural output of your race for no good reason. Although I can't condemn skipping most of the 60' - 80's.

Sorry. What I should have said was "current chart music". I know the charts haven't always been this bad.

I don't restrict myself to a genre. If I hear something and like it, I'll say so.

Hence my playlist featuring artists from 50 Cent to The Darkness, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Sean Paul, Chemical Brothers, Iron Maiden...

i don't believe the only electronic music you put up was trance and house. the worst kinds.

i listen to most stuff, although mainly rock, it's more down to whether i like the music or not.

Heavy metal, alt. rock, punk, J-pop, J-rock, anime, some hip-hop and some techno (Although I hate techno, some of it makes good for background music for car racing)...

Never limit yourself to one kind of music. Its heartening to see that I am not the only one who embraces all musical styles. At 36 years of age I've seen punk, ska revival, reggae revival, new wave of British heavy Metal, rock, poodle-rock, indie, house etc, etc. If it's good, then I want to hear it, this keeps me young.

Amoungest the people I work with, I'm the only still listening to new music, still going to see unsigned bands and digging for new musical experiences.....I expecting to be doing this well into by sixties and beyond.

Me too.

But I may have to quit stage-diving at 50 (50 - 55).
