i agree. i'm really intrigued with how similar (and how different) the iranian culture is from american.
i had a friend who was persian, but he never really gave me much information about his culture, other than telling me that persians made nice rugs.
i've had lots of indian friends who've given me a good idea of what life is like in india.
i've also had a few oriental friends who allowed me to hear all about the various cultures of taiwan, korea, china, laos, burma, and japan.

Seriously. I'm still in disbelief that there are more white skinned guys in Iran than there is here in California! I never would have known that if it wasn't for Shab's thread. I was always led to believe that middle eastern folks have darker skin than those in America.
