Anyone acqurired the album? I saw album launch on MTV and decided to get it, and it isn't half bad. 'Behind blue eyes' and 'eat you alive' are really good in my opinion.

And if you are gonig to post "limp bizkit sux!!!!" or "fred durst is a sellout!" get a life. This isn't meant to be a thread to argue in, just post what you think of the album, not of the band, not of fred, just of the music.

Have you seen the "previews" for the video "Behind Blue Eyes"? Fred Durst makes out with Halle Berry! I caught pics of it while strolling thru some site. Really caught me by surprised.

Ooops, sorry, just realized that I pretty much went off topic. Limp Bizkit isn't a band I normally listen to, but let me know how it goes. Sometimes, an album sounds better after a couple of times.

The NME review, I'll go with this:
http://www.nme.com/reviews/11384.htm

Quote "Where Robert Smith or Chris Martin would pull you in with language, Durst’s stuck-hinge whinge just makes you want to turn your ears off. I mean, really, who gives a shit?"

Surpising...I do...

I like the album. Bought it the day it was released. While Wes was good in his time, Mike definitly has a harder edge in guitar playing. Not to mention the first 4 tracks just fucking rock, and gone are those DJ Lethal intros and in it's place are limpbizkit jams... :D Only downside I see to the album is "Red Light-Green Light", where it's the only rap song on the whole 16-track rock album. While it's still a bit of an improvement over their last "Chocolate Starfish..." album, where they had those long-ass tracks "Getcha Groove On" and the Urban Assult version to "Rollin'", I still with it could've been a 100% rock album. Good thing I give some kind of respect to Snoop Dogg, or else that would've nuked the whole album for me.

But one thing surpised me; mellow songs. I'm not talking about mellow like "The One" from the "Chocolate Starfish..." album, but more along the lines of a Staind song with a limpbizkit edge. A band like that, you wouldn't expect Fred to stop the trash talk for a minute, pick up an acoustic guitar, and take it soft for a minute. Even then, the songs are still good to chill out to...At least until the next "fight song" track comes up... :p

Overall, I liked the album...Definitly a change for the better, and was worth my buy... :D

Yea, that is partly why I liked it. So much different than their other albums, but also, it is limp bizkit. Different from 3$ bill, but in a good way.

I really liked this album. As Shenlong, they've changed into a more rock form. And I like that. I especially like the cover of "Behind Blue Eyes", originally by The Who. I was amazed when I heard it, considering they were normally rap. Eat You Alive was a very good song also, even if the video did blow.

I don't like red light green light too much. Doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the album. I'm not a big fan of the "fight...fight..." song either....

I like the video for "Eat You Alive" and have decided that I also like the song. At first, I was like...."STOP SCREAMING!" but then he get's to that refrain part......good time to refrain from screaming anyway:p
I'll buy the CD for the hell of it.

I didn't really like the video. They couldv'e done better than that. The song is really good, but not the video.

Who was the lead guitarist in the video?

The new guy...Sam something or other.

New guy?
I heard Fred Dirt.....errrr....Durst say they had several different guitarists help them ooze out this cd.

LollipopLustKil
11th October 2003, 03:05
Well, not "new". The guy that took Wes Borland's place after he left.

Lead guitarist? Mike Smith's the only guitarist (If you don't include the bassist)... ;)

Actually, Dirt.....errrr Durst played extensively as well.

Shenlong

Well, yeah...On some tracks, he plays acoustic guitar...But otherwise, he's just the world's favorite trash-talker... :D :p

I hear 007 is their next lead singer- i bet he would be more intelligible than their current front man.

A Mr_007 rap would be quite funny actually. :)
