Screen shots are awesome looking. Is the Havok engine the Half Life 2 engine?

i think havok is proprietary. the HL2 engine is called "source".

I've seen screenshots too, it does look amazing. I found a new (I think) gameplay movie, it's downloading now.

Both Half-Life 2 and Max Payne 2 are using in their own game engines a physics engine called Havoc.

the havok physics engine (http://oldsite.havok.com/newsletter/0503.html), for those interested.

you never asked a question zoomt. just postead a questioning statement :)
yep the source engine is a modified version of the havok engine where as maxpayne dropped all their developed engine code solely to run on havoks code.
makes sense cuz both games look alike. but to what extent did valve go to make the source engine? whats different from the havok part?

not true. havok is just a physics engine. source includes a modified version of havok, whereas max payne uses havok. it's a subtle but important difference, in my opinion. havok doesn't have its own graphics engine.
as for my questioning statement, i posted a question, then found the answer a few minutes later. that's why i replaced my post with "answered my own question" :)

ah you edited yourself that makes a lot more sense :) ok that also makes more sense now to me. i thought havok had something to do with the graphics engine also.

Its out on PC but not on the Box. Is it out for PS2? Or will it be out for the PS2?

same stuff as Max Payne 1... nothing much different...
graphics look kinda good, except for the enemies, i mean why the hell can i see 2 exactly the same (face, clothes, everything) men in 1 room? and if you walk to the next room, there's even more of them! like they're cloned or something, really stupid...
but gameplay is still great, no major changes i think...
whiteflip: i guess it WILL be out on the PS2, but will take like a year or so, same as with 1... just hope it won't be the same shit again (ps2 version of 1 was shiiiiit :))

This game actually looks worth playing, looks to resemble Matrix gameplay a lot though, however, the trailer for it is significantly more dramatic than the first, looks great, probably be getting it.

Actually its coming out before xmas for Xbox and ps2. Unfortunately like before (MP1) the PS2 is going to be least appealing of the three with its customary jaggies, blurred textures, and amputated levels. Because of this I played the 1st Max Payne on my PC, but alas the sys requirements for Max Payne 2 is too steep for my aging comp so I guess I’ll purchase the PS2 vers Since I don’t own a xbox.

lol, not for me. i can't afford a console, but i need a PC in order to work.
have only upgraded it once, and it cost about the price of a console game.
