I've actually composed music on my PC. I was a MOD tracker, two or three years back, but have given up due to increasing college work. Nothing original though, basically remixing existing MOD tracks (thanks to the MODPlug community) by altering the Tempo, Pitch, Sampling, Effects etc.

Tried to make tabs to some songs on bass that I couldn't find on the internet...
As for my own? I've played some stuff I've made up, but I can't write/tab them down on paper...

I've recorded 23 albums in my "home studio", mainly between 1992-5. They're all on cassette. Johnny Marr once boasted he could write a song in 20 minutes, I can write one in 15. :)
Nowadays I'm content to listen, rather than compose. I'm 32 now and the 'crap at the end' rule applies.

I've never tried to write music. I don't even think about trying. It's way out of the picture for me.

23 albums? Whoa. What type of music is it?
I once tried to write a song, but kept thinking of lines from other songs and nothing original.

I can't do lyrics at all. I've written a few songs just with guitar though, never did tab them on paper though.

I make some nice techno and other electronica music, but I can't write songs for shit besides that.

Is there anyway your music can be heard ? I'd love to.
And what is this 'rule' you mentioned ?

The rule is, you mellow with age and lose that cutting-edge. I took 2 years out of work (1993-94) specifically to write songs. It was a great time. *sigh*. A young musician without a care in the world.
I'll have to convert some albums to MP3 soon, they'll be losing quality on the cassettes. I owe it to my past self.
Are you writing any material then 'seer??? I'd carry on but being a family man I haven't got the time any more.

I've sometimes been tempted to try to write lyrics but never really did, guess having no musical talent doesn't help :D
I've started messing around with Fruity Loops lately, who knows, maybe that will give something :D

I usually have someone I know tell me if I wrote something lyrical and can be changed into a song.
Hidden Tears by Lee
Well I try to understand your hesitations
And I try to understand your reservations
You asked me to read your diary
It was full of blank pages
You asked me to hear your song
All I heard was silence
You tell me to keep on trying
And I do
But I just can't seem to get through
To the other side of you
Tell me your deepest desires
Show me your hottest fires
Tell me your greatest fears
Show me your hidden tears
Have you tried to understand my frustrations
Do you think you know my motivations
You offered me a cigarette
It was only paper
You gave me a glass of wine
It was nothing but water
You Tell me to keep on trying
And I do
But I just can't seem to get through
To the other side of you
Tell me your deepest desires
Show me your hottest fires
Tell me your greatest fears
Show me your hidden tears
Well, I try to understand your trepidations
And I try to understand your apprehensions
There are secret depths within your heart
You guard them fiercely
Is that why no one since
Has touched you quite as deeply
Yet, you tell me to keep on trying
And I keep on trying
But I just can't seem to get through
To the other side of you
Maybe one day
You will fill the empty pages
Your songs will echo through my mind
Maybe one day
We will share a smoke together
While we turn that water into wine
Only then will you reveal
What you now conceal
And you will finally let me through
To the other side of you
Tell me your heart's deepest desires
Show me your passion's hottest fires
Tell me your spirit's greatest fears
Show me your soul's hidden tears.

I used to make songs with Impulse Tracker, and ancient DOS technology, but honestly the only one I could understand except MTV Music Maker. Since getting a new PC that's NTFS, my old IT prog doesn't work right. I wanted to shoot the fucking thing.
