whats up with all the christmas going on? Its not even thanksgiving yet and there are xmas decorations all over the mall and fake snow and everything. there's even a radio station playing xmas music all the time. Is it like this everyhere? will the madness ever end?

It doesn't end on December 26th either.
Just goes on and on and on.......

.....and on

It's just the media cashing in early on Christmas, they always do it, just that it always seems to get earlier and earlier each year

radio station playing Christmas music? :weird:

yea. there was even a commercial on TV for it. 102.7 switched from being a soft rock station to an xmas station. and my parents are always listening to it. i can't stand it.

Some of the stores here are already playing that awful Christmas Muzak! It just makes me cringe! Thanks a lot Target and King Soopers, for ruining the holidays before they even get here.

I'm going to go ahead and say this before anybody complains about it. The use of Xmas does not take Christ out of Christmas. The X is an abbreviation of ***935;***961;***953;***963;***964;***959;***962;, pronounced Christos, the Greek word which is the origin of the word Christ.

I refuse to do anything with Christmas until after Thanksgiving. And I won't listen to Xmas music until 'mas Eve. When I go on vacation in February, it will kinda a late Xmas present to myself :) It'll been awhile since I had that kind of time off.

My mom kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas. I kept telling her that I didn't really need anything, but she insisted on getting me something. So, I ended up picking out my Christmas present two days ago. It's a really nice black Oakley jacket. I'll be damned if I can find a pic of it on the Oakley site, though... :weird: Mom's going to hold on to it until Christmas day, then I get it like a normal present. It's cool though, because I know that I'll like what I'm getting. That's actually better than not knowing what I'm getting (I'll appreciate whatever someone gives me, regardless of what it is though). My mom knows that I don't really need anything, but she wanted to get me something, so I picked out something that I would actually use. I also got her a nice watch that she said she wanted. Need to wrap that up soon. :)

And yeah, I couldn't stand all those radio stations playing Christmas music all the time even up to a month before the damn holiday even got here. I don't mind all the decorations around the mall and such, though.

I decorate for Christmas the day before Thanksgiving and leave them up till Jan 6th, WHy? Hell Idunno the kids love it, it makes everyone happier and they are pretty to look at. As for shopping, I am a last minute shopper fighting crowds on the Christmas Eve.

And I love Christmas Music, not the intrumental type but the real Christmas music!

My decorations went up last week (8 days ago in fact).

I was thinking of getting a sound board (yamaha I think) with those motorized sliders. But my mom says that too much. Well Looks like I gotta go to work then! (It's only about 300 on e-bay)

my decorations go up sometime during the week after thanksgiving. usually we have a really big tree. but for some reason my parents want a really small one this year. oh well. i'll still be very happy. i'm more exctied about the ring i'm giving my gf than i am about what im getting.

We won't be decorating this year simply because we never took them down from last year. I don't know why we didn't, we just never found the time to do it, I suppose.

My decorations go up during December and go down during December...

Hell, I don't really decorate, really...I just put up some half-assed fake pine tree in my living room, throw a rug underneath, throw some flashy lights on, and that's it...Bah humbug!

We put ours up the first or second week of December, and take them down right after New Year's Day. I won't be putting any up this year, though, because I'm in a dorm.

Speaking of early Xmas, my early gift came today in the form of a banning. I didn't get to push the big red button but enjoyed it as much as stuffing a blond's stocking:p

Christmas should be kept from December 1st, to the 26th.... and that's it - would make the thing a whole lot more enjoyable...

is Christmas eve the 24th or 25th of December in the US?

Shenlong
17th November 2003, 22:56
Christmass Eve is the 24th, as the 25th is the actual day...

decorations go up around 15 dec and go down on 2 or 3 jan
big fake three( can't have a real one with 2 dogs and 4 cats in the living room)
reminds me that we need to buy some stuff to decorate the tree, last year one of our cats jumped in the three and the whole damn thing went down, breaking most of the decorations.
